What is Aeromexico Airlines?

Aeromexico is a Mexican airline company headquartered in Mexico city, Mexico and is currently operating both domestic and international flight services. The airline is originally known with the name of Airways of Mexico, SA de CV in English language. It is the major airlines of the nation comprising over 40 percent of the market share in the airline industry.

Aeromexico came into existence in the year 1934 as Aeronaves de México. Presently two airports named 'Benito Juárez International Airport' and 'Cancun International Airport' serve as hubs for the airline with main base at the Mexico City International Airport. The company's First Flight take off with a Stinson SR aircraft and Julio Zinser piloted that flight. The airline received its major expansion after the period from 1980's and started flight operations to many international destinations. In order to expand company's business and services, the company made codeshare agreements with several other airline companies such as Alaska Airlines, Copa Airlines, Lan Airlines and TAM Airlines etc.

Aeromexico had flight services to 57 domestic and international locations that were operational with a fleet of 62 aircrafts as of March, 2014. The airline ordered number of aircrafts in order to further extend its services. The locations its serves are in different parts of the world covering North America, South America, Central America, Caribbean, Europe and Asia. Grupo Aeroméxico serves as the parent company of the airline. The company use an Aztec eagle warrior in company's logo. Aeromexico runs a customer care center for providing information on flight operations and solving other queries of its customers.
