In 2014, Facebook released a statement citing that it would acquire WhatsApp. Latter was the largest acquisition of Facebook till date on the basis of whopping amount, US$ 19 billion. The acquisition of WhatsApp led its subscribers to opt for others messaging apps such as Telegram, Viber and Line.
