Smart Communications has fourteen subsidiaries including Smart Broadband Inc, Wolfpac Mobile Inc, Smart Money Holdings Corporation, Francom Holdings Inc, 3rd Brand PTE Ltd, Primeworld Digital Systems Inc and many more.
Smart Communications foundation stone was laid in the year 1991 by the joint efforts of David T Fernando and Orlando B Vea, with the name Smart Information Technology Inc. The company comes into business in 1993 with mobile cellular services and in 1997 with commercial operations. Later on, it modified its name as Wise Communications. Smart Marketing communications had served a lot more than 360,000 subscribers in 1997, making it the major cellular agent in Philippines. In 1999, it commenced their prepaid GSM service with name 'Smart Buddy'. The corporate headquarter of the Smart Communications is located in Makati Metropolis, Philippines.
