Rogers Communications has divided its business into four segments like Rogers Cable, Rogers Media, Rogers Telecom and Rogers Wireless. Rogers Communications began in the year 1925 by Edward Rogers as Rogers Vacuum Tube Company. In the year 1961, it entered into broadcasting business. The company changed its name from Rogers Vacuum Tube Company to Rogers Radio Broadcasting. Some year later, the company started cable television services and changed its name to Rogers Cablesystems. In the year 1986, It has become a public company and renamed as Rogers Communications. Today, it is one of the Canadian largest telecom and mass media companies. It serves more than 9 million wireless customers and around 1.8 million digital cable and Internet households. After Bell Internet, Rogers is the 2nd biggest provider of Internet services in the Canada. It started its cable home Internet network under the brand name of 'WAVE' in the year 1995 in Newmarket, Ontario for nearly 16,000 homes.
