What is Rcmp Halifax?
The “Royal Canadian Mounted Police” shortly known as Rcmp is law enforcement agency (LEA) which is recognized for social order, public safety and the enforcement of the laws in Canada. IT Works on the behalf of Government under Three departments named as federal, provincial and municipal to provide criminal Justice and safety in the community. The RCMP unit in Halifax which is situated at 1975 Gottingen Street in Nova Scotia is considered as the E unit of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police force. It organizes many national programs like Border Integrity Program, Canadian Bomb Data Centre, Drug Enforcement Branch, Protective Services Section and Canadian Air Carrier Protection Program and more to deal with cross-jurisdictional crimes and specialized services. All the operations of the police are regulated by Ministry of Public Safety Canada under RCMP Act. Its main objective is to provide partnerships, consultations, unbiased & respectful treatment and timely service to all the citizens. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police includes Provincial and Regional Integrated Units which operates under different sections such as: Integrated First Nations Unit (IFNU), Integrated Child Exploitation (ICE), Integrated Municipal Provincial Auto Crime Team (IMPACT) and Integrated Market Enforcement Team (IMET) and many more. It has a fleet of 680 Detachments, 8,677 vehicles, 5 patrol vessels, 32 fixed wings and 10 helicopters. The RCMP was originally incorporated as North-West Mounted Police (NWMP) by amalgamating Royal Northwest Mounted Police (RNWMP) and Dominion Police and later was renovated on 1 December, 1920 to acquire its current name "Royal Canadian Mounted Police". It serves 3 territories, 8 Canadian provinces together with nearly 190 municipalities, 184 aboriginal communities and 3 international airports. The controlling office of the RCMP is centralized at 73 Leikin Drive in Ottawa, Ontario. In addition to this, it consists of 19,281 sworn and 9,954 unsworn members.
