What is Pfizer?

Pfizer is an American multinational pharmaceutical company engaged in both research and manufacturing of pharmaceutical products like medicines and vaccines. The company came into existence with the efforts of Charles Pfizer after whom it was named and Charles Erhart in New York City in the year 1849 with the manufacturing of fine chemicals as Charles Pfizer and Company. It is the largest pharmaceutical company in the world in terms of revenues. In its beginning years it developed antiparasitic called santonin which was a success few years later it started production of citric acidn which take it to heights. The company shifted its focus to research line with its discovery of Terramycin (oxytetracycline) in the year 1950. The company took over number of companies since its establishment few of them are Wyeth in 2009, Pharmacia in 2003 and Warner–Lambert in 2000. The company have their operations with Research & Development facilities in several countries of the world and world headquarters in New York. The company's products are sold at almost every medical shop in the world and name of some of its products are Accupril (quinapril) for hypertension treatment, Cefobid a cephalosporin antibiotic, Eraxis (anidulafungin) an antifungal drug, Vfend (voriconazole) for antifungal drug etc.
