What is Orange France?
Orange S.A is a France based publicly traded telecommunications company. Its headquarters is located in Paris, France. Orange S.A is operated and controlled by France Telecom. The company began its journey in 1994 in United Kingdom as Microtel Communications Limited. Later, in July 1991, Hutchinson Telecom took possession over the company by holding 65% of its shares. Its name was changed to Orange Personal Communications Services Limited and was introduced in the United Kingdom's marketplace on 28 April, 1994. Orange became a publicly traded company in April 1996 and was introduced in the Hong Kong's Cellular market in September 1998. In its first year of operation as a cellular company, Orange served to about 400,000 customers. It was acquired by France Telecom in August 2000 and its name was changed to Orange S.A. It became the first telecommunication company that used technologies such as 3G, GPRS in its Mobile phones. The company extended the boundaries of its services by delivering televisions and Internet services. On July 1, 2010 Orange UK was acquired by EE and all its products were sold under the brand name of EE.
