Idaho Power had started operations on 6th of May 2015 to serve the residents of Maine. The company was again started on 1st of October 1989 after acquiring the operations of five small companies in Idaho including Idaho-Oregon Light & Power, Idaho Railway, Light & Power and Southern Idaho Water Power Company. Idaho supervises all activities from corporate office, located in Boise, Idaho, United States. The Company has more than 2,000 full-time employees.

Idaho Power operates in Eastern Oregon and Southern Idaho. Its service area spread in Snake River and nearing area. The company serves customers in the area of approximately 24,000 square miles and has the base of 50,000 subscribers. Idaho Power generates power through two natural gas power plants and seventeen hydroelectric dams. The utility owns American Falls Dam, Milner Dam, Shoshone Falls, Cascade Dam, Swan Falls Dam, Thousand Springs power plant, etc., hydropower dams.
