What is G B Pant Hospital Delhi?
Govind Ballabh (G.B.) Pant Hospital was founded in the year 1961. It was commissioned by the then Prime Minister late Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on 30th April, 1964. It started with 229 bed capacity and presently has over 600 beds. It offers super speciality treatment to more than three Lac OPD patients and over fifteen thousand patients in General and Private Wards every year. It is recognised internationally as a tertiary Care Hospital which offers specialisation in Heart, Brain, Gastrointestinal and Psychiatric disorders. It is recognised as an independent postgraduate college. It is affiliated to the Delhi University for its teaching courses and is recognised by the MCI and UGC. It also offers M.D. Courses in Microbiology, Pathology, Psychiatry, Radio-diagnosis etc. in connotation with its sister institute which is Maulana Azad Medical College. It promotes active research and is also recognised for Ph.D. and DNB courses. It also offers super specialisation courses which includes post-doctoral D.M. degrees in Cardiology, Neurology, Gastroenterology and M.Ch. degrees in Cardio Thoracic Surgery, Gastrointestinal Surgery and Neurosurgery. It offers Emergency services, Outpatient and Inpatient facilities under various departments which includes Anaesthesia, Intensive care, Biochemistry, Cardiology, Cardiothoracic surgery, Gastroenterology. Gastrointestinal surgery, Microbiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Pathology, Psychiatry, Radiology, Physiotherapy etc. It has the most dedicated staff which is very active in medical research and believes in Evidence Based Medical Practices.
