What is Essilor Contact?
A division of Essilor International, Essilor is a France based company that is engaged in manufacturing of optical instruments and lenses. The headquarters of the company is located in Charenton-le-Pont, France. The company began its journey in the year 1972 by the collaboration of two companies called Silor and Essel. It started its operation as a small eyeglass shop. Later on in 1955, Essilor introduced a frame called Nylor. The company evolved with the formation of its first Progressive power lens called Varilux in 1959. Later the company expanded its business to Philippines and Ireland. The company launched a new range of lens called Crizal that were resistant to scratches. Essilor introduced unbreakable lenses called airwear polycarbonate lens by taking possession over Gentex. In 2007, Essilor formed its Essilor Vision Foundation to conduct vision tests in schools. Later it took possession over FGX International. Today Essilor has become a prominent name that is recognized for its eye lenses. The lenses delivered by the company such as Airwear, Nikon, Kromos, Crizal, Trio, Spex, Varilux Progressive, Transitions, Anti-fatigue and Xperio are available in the categories of Progressive Lenses, Standard Lenses and Specialty Lenses. With a Manpower of about 52,600 employees, Essilor is one of the 40 largest companies of Paris with its network spread in more than 100 countries namely United States, Paris, France, India, etc and 5 continents. Essilor is the largest company that creates opthalmic lenses. Crizal Prevencia, Virtual Reality, Vision Impact Institute and Institut de la Vision are the part of the Research and Development team owned by the company.
