Ebookers.com is a travel company which operates mainly through its online portal for Booking flight tickets, hotels, car rentals, etc. It is situated in the United Kingdom, and is the European brand of Orbitz Worldwide. It is an entirely possessed subsidiary of Travelport which is itself a travel arm of Cendant, which was purchased in October 2006 by an associate of Blackstone Partners. Travelport divided itself into Three companies. The part of the business which is identified with the B2C arm is called Orbitz Worldide and was listed on the Nasdaq in July 2007.

The company holds online travel agencies in 12 European countries. IT Works with 250 airlines and more than 110,000 hotels and holiday, car hire and insurance providers. This make the travel agency more flexible in meeting the demands of customers.

Ebookers was formed in 1999, by Dinesh Dhamija as Flightbookers Ltd in 1978 based in London’s Earls Court. Ebooker.com was commenced operations in 1998 and was the UK’s first online travel agent. In November 2000, ebookers.com acquired Flightbookers for $15m. Later in February 2005, ebookers.com was owned by Cendant Corporation and arranged into real estate, travel distribution, hospitality and vehicle rental companies. The travel division was known as Travelport, from which ebookers.com later turned into the European brand, Orbitz Worldwide.
