DSTV is a South African digital satellite TV channel company which was started in 1995. Its major services are offered in Sub-Saharan Africa. The company offers various types of channels related to Movies, Lifestyle and Culture, General Entertainment, Sport, Documentaries, News and Commerce, Music, Religion, Infotainment, etc. In 1986, it was started as single channel service, later on in 1995, the company announced to launch new digital, satellite service in South Africa which was started on six of October 1995.

The company also opened Boxoffice service in 2011 that is a movie rental service that offer DSTV premium PVR subscribers instant access to customer's favorite Blockbuster movies on customer's finger touch.
