What is Cathay Cineplex?
Cathay Cineplexes PTE Ltd is a famous multiplex cinema hall which is a subsidiary of Cathay Organisation Holdings Limited. Cathay Organisation is a major player in the field of lifestyle, entertainment, leisure and property management in the country. The first Cathay Cineplex was introduced with 8 cinema halls on March 24, 2006 at Cathay building.
After one year, it was launched in Ang Mo Kio Central as Cathay Cineplex AMK Hub with 8 screens. Presently, Cathay Cineplex operates in Singapore as Cathay Cineplex Causeway Point, Cathay Cineplex Downtown East, Cathay Cineleisure Orchard, Cathay Cineplex West Mall, The Cathay and Cathay Cineplex JEM. The Cathay Organization opened its first Cinema in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with 1,200 seat Pavilion Cinema in 1936 and in the year air conditioning plant was installed in year 1948. In the year 2000, the Cathay Organization made five-screen Mega Pavilion Cinema at City Square in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
