What is Burnaby Village Museum?

As the name suggests, Burnaby Village Museum is an open air museum falls in the area of Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. It is setup inside the Deer lake Park; earlier it was used to be known as 'Heritage Village'. It depicts the trade and culture of village of 1920s containing 31 full scale buildings. Many employees have been assigned to demonstrate old traditional, trades and costumes of old people of the village. The whole museum is spread over and area of 10 acres. Few of the buildings of the museum are real old heritage buildings and rest are just replica of them. The original heritage building have been moved form their original place to setup this museum. It displays variety of artifacts of old age. There is also an electric Railway interurban tram of 1912 B.C. which is the major attraction of the museum. C.W. Parker Carousel is also the other major attraction of the museum as it is oldest French style carousel built in 1912, which also owns stairs. Moving toward the other major attraction of the museum, it has numerous permanent exhibits including Vorce tram station, a Church, War memorial fountain, Drugstore, The stride studios, Mckay barbership, Elworth, Vorce Tram Station etc. Buraby Village Museum comes under the affiliation of many museum association such as BC museums associations, Canadian museums association etc.
