What is Arizona Public Service Contact?
Arizona Public Service is the power company serving over one million consumers residing in Arizona. It is the major division of Pinnacle West Capital Corporation which generates 4,000 MW of electricity supplying to the Phoenix metropolitan area and other areas such as Flagstaff, Yuma, Douglas and Prescott. It is one of the largest public utilities in Arizona. The power generating facilities of Arizona Public Service include coal fueled power plants, natural gas plants, and nuclear generating plants. Throughout its journey of over 125 years, Arizona Public Services has been under many ownership resulted in its renaming many times.
Arizona Public Service dates back to 1884, when the Phoenix Light and Fuel Company was in operation to provide electricity to the residents of Phoenix. In 1906, it was renamed as Pacific Gas and Electric followed by Central Arizona Light and Power in 1920.
It was acquired by American Power and Light in 1925 though split from latter in 1945. It amalgamated into Northern Arizona Power and Light in 1949 followed by merger into Arizona Edison. The company was again renamed as Arizona Public Service.
Its holding company was formed in 1985 as AZP Group Incorporation which would later renamed as Pinnacle West Capital Corporation.
