What is Akashvani Mumbai?
Akashvani is the national public Radio broadcaster of India headquartered at the Sansad Marg, New Delhi, India. It was established in the year 1930 and is also known as All India Radio (AIR). It is a division of Prasar Bharti and is owned by the Prasar Bharti. It is a Government Organization and is one of the largest radio networks of the world. The All India Radio provides services in various languages serving different Regions of the country. The home services of the All India Radio is comprised of more than four-hundred stations throughout the country and originates programming in more than twenty languages and more than one-hundred and forty dialects. The All India Radio office in Mumbai is located at Church Gate, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India and the programs at Mumbai AIR are broadcasted in various languages including Marathi, Hindi, Gujarati, English, Konkani, Urdu, Sindhi and Kannada. Different programs are broadcasted round the clock. The Akashvani office in Mumbai also consists of the Library equipped with Disks, CD’s, Tapes and Books and the categories of programs broadcasted include Music, News, SP. Audience, Spoken word and Miscellaneous.
