What is University of Surrey?
The University of Surrey is a public co-educational research university that consists of four faculties namely-Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Faculty of Business, Economics and Law and Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. It was formed in the year 1891 with the name Battersea Polytechnic Institute and renamed under the name University of Surrey in 1966 by Royal Charter. It is one of the largest research universities across the United States. Main campus of the university is situated in Guildford, England, United Kingdom which covers an area of 222 acres. The university imparts education to more than 15,705 students including 9,600 undergraduates and 6,105 postgraduates.
The University of Surrey offers numerous undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the fields of Accounting and Finance, Biochemistry, Business Management, Chemical Engineering, Computing and Information Technology, Digital Media Arts, Economics, Mathematics, Law, Sociology, Physics and many more. It is affiliated to the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), European University Association (EUA) and Pacific Asia Travel Association(PATA). The University of Surrey has hosts many cultural and educational events for increasing the knowledge of their students. It has awarded with Queen's Award. The university has well qualified approximately 2,338 staff in their respective fields.
