What is PSP?
PSP officially known as Play Station Portable is a portable gaming system made by Sony. It is produced by Sony models Computer Enjoyment. It was manufactured by Sony Computer Entertainment. It is a product of the Playstation family. It was launched on 12th of December, 2004. The predecessor of PSP was PocketStation and its successor is PlayStation Vita. The bestselling PSP Game as of 6th of May, 2011 is Monster Hunter Portable 3rd.
History
The system was published in Asia on Dec 12, 2004 and North
America on 24th of March, 2005. The PlayStation is the only portable video gaming system to use a visual disk structure, Worldwide Media Disc, as the primary storage method. The PSP range was provided by the PlayStation Vita, launched in December 2011 in Japan and February 2012 in North America, Europe and Australia. It provides Built in Stereo Speakers, Built in Mono Speaker and Built in Microphone. It is regarded as the leading gaming console in the United States of America. The PSP can play video and audio saved on a PSP-formatted Memory Stick, and can display saved photos or other image files.
Description
There are three different dimensions in which the PSP is available that are PSP1000 (74 mm or 2.9 in, 170 mm or 6.7 in, 23mm or 0.91 in), PSP2000/3000 (71 mm or 2.8 in, 169 mm or 6.7 in, 19 mm or 0.75 in) and PSP GO (69 mm or 2.7 in, 128 mm or 5.0 in, 16.5 mm or 0.65 in). The weights of the three different models can be determined as PSP1000 (280 grams), PSP2000/3000 (189 grams) and PSP GO (158 grams). For sound there are several features like stereo speakers, microphone (PSP-3000, PSP Go), Mono speaker (PSP-E1000) and 3.5 mm headphone jack. The PSP is available in two different memory availability models that are 32 MB (PSP-1000) and 64 MB (2000, 3000, Go, E1000). The connectivity is available as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, IrDA and USB. The operating system used in PSP is PlayStation Portable system software.
