What is Marie Stopes?
Marie Charlotte Carmichael Stopes was a British author, academic, palaeobotanist and pioneer in the field of birth control. She was born on the October 15, 1880 in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. She did her schooling from the St. Georges School for Girls in Edinburg and was later sent to the North London Collegiate School. She did her bachelors in Science from the University College London in year 1902 and received a D.sc degree from the University College London. She received Ph. D in the Palaeobotany at the University of Munich in year 1904. Marie Stopes died from Breast Cancer in Dorking, Surrey, United Kingdom.
