What is acgme?
The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) was formed in 1981. It is accountable for accrediting various graduate medical training programs for physicians across the country. It also assesses and accredits medical residency and internship programs. Many medical organizations of United States such as American Board of Medical Specialties, American Medical Association and the Council of Medical Specialty Societies are affiliated to ACGME. ACGME accredits medical training programs in the field of anesthesiology, emergency medicine, radiology, pathology, radiation oncology, dermatology, family medicine, allergy and immunology. ACGME has been honored with many awards such as David C Leach and Palmer award.
